One of PT Health’s resident professionals had been given the privilege to speak about providing health services through a concerted effort of a team of providers in order to improve the quality of care as well as health status.
Sinéad P. Dufour is with the Faculty of Health Sciences, The University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario. She was among those who had the opportunity to be asked to speak at the 10th Annual Interdisciplinary Research Conference last November 4-5, 2009, hosted by the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Trinity College Dublin.
The discussion explored the gap that exists between the Family Health Team (FHT) initiative and Primary Health Care (PHC) renewal as well as the role of the World Health Organization’s International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) in the development of a model to assist inter-professional collaborative practice within the PHC models. The ICF provides a framework that enables evidenced-based PHC through a collective effort by practitioners from different fields.
The PT Health Team is honored to have you with us and indeed, we are very proud of you and your accomplishments!
